Richard Blair

Richard Bair is an application developer with over seven years experience in writing SQL database front ends. Four of those years were devoted to writing Java applications based on Swing and JDBC. He is currently tasked with working on the back-end components in JDNC for communicating with various data stores such as RDBMS systems, web services, and EJB servers, as well as working on Swing components and general JDNC project management. He joined Sun Microsystems in November of 2004 as a member of the Swing team, working full time on the JDNC project.

Ben Galbraith

Ben Galbraith is a frequent technical speaker, occasional consultant, and author of several Java-related books. He is a co-founder of Ajaxian.com, an experienced CTO and Java Architect, and is presently a consultant specializing in Java Swing and Ajax development. Ben wrote his first computer program when he was six years old, started his first business at ten, and entered the IT workforce just after turning twelve. For the past few years, he’s been professionally coding in Java. Ben has delivered hundreds of technical presentations world-wide at venues including JavaOne, The Ajax Experience, JavaPolis, and the No Fluff Just Stuff Java Symposium series; he was the top-rated speaker at JavaOne 2006.

Chet Haase

Chet is an architect in the Java Client Group at Sun Microsystems. He spends most of his time working on graphics and performance issues and futures.

Kevin Hoyt

Kirill Grouchnikov

Kirill has been writing software for the last sixteen years, the last eight doing it for a living. He is currently working in Amdocs product development group as a Java senior software engineer. His main field of interest is desktop applications, imaging algorithms and advanced UI technologies.

James Lemieux

James Lemieux has been a Swing developer for the past 7 years. He began contributing to the Glazed Lists project in October, 2004 while at Nike. After a successful deployment of a large project within Nike's footwear
division, he continues to develop Glazed Lists in his spare time. He enjoys
board games, poker, trivia, and his Pug, Bijou.

Hans Muller

Hans is the CTO for Sun's Desktop division. He's been at Sun for over 15 years and has been involved with desktop GUI work of one kind another for nearly all of that time. He's been involved with the Java project since its earliest days and led the Swing team and later all of the client Java work at Sun.

Wolf Paulus

Wolf Paulus is an experienced software developer focusing on Java, Mac OS X, wireless/mobile embedded-systems, and Open Source technologies. In his daytime job as Software Architect and project lead with Cardiff, an Autonomy Group (LSE: AU. or AU.L) company, he works on the LiquidOffice platform, an innovative document routing and workflow solution.

He developed TiffanyScreens, a presentation sharing tool for peer groups, created the Thinlet RAD Tool Theodore, and is the founder and principal developer of the open source XUL Engine SwixML, which was recently included into Sun's java.net community. Read more about Wolf here.

Yvonne is a developer, Senior Technical Instructor and Java Lead for Oracle Corporation. She is being developing software in Java (SE/EE) and .Net for the past six years.

Yvonne's interests include software development using Java (SE/EE), GUI development with both Swing and JSF, Object-Relational mapping and Agile practices. As a technical instructor for Oracle and adjunct (Computer Science) faculty member at Florida Atlantic University and University of New Brunswick (Canada) she has more than 5 years of public speaking experience.

Etienne Studer

Etienne Studer is a Senior Java Software Developer at Navis LLC, global leader in supply chain execution software for cargo logistics based in Oakland. Starting his Java developer career in Switzerland, he joined Navis two years ago and has been working on architectural decisions and framework infrastructure for their Swing-based RIA product, Sparcs N4. He has been a speaker on UltraLightClient and IntelliJ IDEA at several JUGs in California and will present at the upcoming SD West 2007 conference.

Eitan Suez

Eitan Suez has been programming in Java since its inception. He is a
java.net blogger and also one of java.net's JUG community leaders. Eitan is the author of the open source Java documentation system "ashkelon", and more recently, the author of the JMatter framework for extremely agile software construction for workgroups. Eitan has spoken at countless "No Fluff Just Stuff" Java Symposia over the last five years, on a variety of programming topics including persistence with Hibernate, a programmer's perspetives on CSS, and more recently on his framework: JMatter.

Kai Tödter works in the software architecture department of Siemens Corporate Technology. He has 10 years of professional Java experience. His current interest is software architecture for smart clients, with special focus on Eclipse RCP. Kai was delegated by Siemens as "Technical Liaison Manager for Java" to the USA and he has represented Siemens in the Executive Committee for Java ME of the Java Community Process.

Scott Violet

Scott Violet has been in the Java client group at Sun for over eight years. He started out at Sun in the OpenStep group (what is now Cocoa), and then joined the Java Software group working on Swing. He has helped with Java Web Start, NetBeans, and Glow. Today he is the architect for Swing and has been working on the project since long before the 1.0 release.
